Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this fits my engine?
Verify your engine is a Johnson or Evinrude 60-degree V4 or V6 model made between 1991 and 2006. This part is a specific-fit replacement for the models listed in the compatibility table.
Why do I need to use a 50:1 premix after installing this pump?
This product is a VRO replacement kit, which converts your engine from an automatic oil-injection system to a manual premix system. The new pump only supplies fuel; you must mix oil directly into your gas tank at a 50:1 ratio to ensure the engine is properly lubricated.
What are the signs my old VRO pump is failing?
Common signs include the engine running rough, bogging down at high RPM, stalling, or the sounding of a VRO system warning alarm. Installing this kit permanently bypasses these common failure points.
