Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor by unfastening its mounting bolts.
3. Locate and unscrew the bolts securing the water pump housing cover.
4. Carefully remove the old impeller, paying attention to the direction of the vanes.
5. Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect it for wear, scoring, or corrosion.
6. Insert the new impeller key into the slot on the driveshaft.
7. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. Lubricate the housing and impeller with a marine-grade grease or soap-water solution.
8. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down on the housing to correctly seat the impeller vanes.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
10. Reattach the lower unit to the outboard and secure it.
11. Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and confirm a steady stream of water from the cooling system's tell-tale outlet.
