Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and shut off the fuel supply for safety.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the bolts securing it to the engine leg. Carefully separate the lower unit.
3. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing to expose the old impeller.
4. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's blades before sliding it off the driveshaft. Remove the old key.
5. Thoroughly clean the pump housing and wear plate, inspecting for scoring or corrosion.
6. Install the new key into the slot on the driveshaft.
7. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, ensuring it aligns with the key.
8. Apply a thin layer of marine grease to the inside of the pump housing.
9. Reinstall the housing, rotating the driveshaft in the direction of engine operation to correctly seat the impeller vanes.
10. Secure the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Reattach the lower unit to the outboard, ensuring all connections are properly seated.
12. Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water supply, checking for a strong stream from the tell-tale outlet.
