Installation Guide

1. Safety First: Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is securely mounted in an upright position.
2. Access the Lower Unit: Drain the gearcase oil. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the engine's midsection.
3. Remove the Lower Unit: Carefully lower the gearcase away from the engine. The driveshaft will disengage from the powerhead.
4. Expose the Water Pump: The water pump housing is located on top of the gearcase, surrounding the driveshaft.
5. Disassemble the Old Pump: Remove the pump housing bolts and slide the housing off the driveshaft. Note the orientation of the old impeller vanes.
6. Remove Old Components: Take out the old impeller, wear plate, insert cup, and any gaskets or seals. Clean the mounting surfaces thoroughly.
7. Install New Components: Place the new wear plate and gasket onto the gearcase. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft while turning it in a clockwise direction to bend the vanes correctly.
8. Install New Housing: Lubricate the inside of the new insert cup and housing. Slide the new housing assembly over the impeller and align the bolt holes.
9. Secure the Housing: Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Reinstall Lower Unit: Carefully guide the driveshaft and water tube back into position and bolt the lower unit back onto the engine. Refill the gearcase with new oil.
11. Test the System: Reconnect the battery. Start the engine using a water supply (flushing attachment) and verify a steady stream of water is exiting the tell-tale port.
