Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this kit fits my engine?
This kit fits specific Yamaha 2-Stroke 40 HP and 50 HP models from 1995-2009. Please check the Compatible Engine Models table on this page and verify your engine's model and year range. Cross-referencing your existing part number with our list also ensures a correct match.
How often should I replace the water pump impeller?
For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to replace your water pump impeller every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of use, depending on operating conditions. Frequent use in saltwater or sandy/silty water may require more frequent inspections.
What are the signs of a failing water pump?
Common signs include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or intermittent water stream from the "telltale" outlet, and visible cracks or damage on the old impeller upon inspection.

This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
