Installation Guide

1. Safety First: Disconnect the engine's battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
2. Access the Lower Unit: Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the engine leg and carefully lower it.
3. Disassemble Pump Housing: Locate the water pump housing on top of the gearcase. Unbolt and slide the housing up and off the driveshaft.
4. Remove Old Impeller: Take out the old impeller, gaskets, and wear plate. Note the direction of the old impeller blades for reference. Remove the small impeller key from the driveshaft.
5. Clean and Inspect: Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces and inspect the housing and wear plate for scoring or warping. Replace if damaged.
6. Install New Components: Place the new impeller key in its slot on the driveshaft. Slide the new impeller down while turning the driveshaft clockwise to bend the vanes correctly.
7. Reassemble: Install the new gaskets and reassemble the water pump housing, ensuring a proper seal.
8. Reinstall Lower Unit: Guide the lower unit back into place, aligning the driveshaft, and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
