Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
2. Place the outboard in neutral and remove the lower unit (gearcase) bolts.
3. Carefully separate the lower unit from the upper casing.
4. Unscrew the bolts holding the water pump housing in place and lift it off.
5. Note the orientation of the old impeller vanes before removing the impeller.
6. Remove the old gaskets, seals, and impeller key from the driveshaft.
7. Clean all mating surfaces of any old gasket material or debris.
8. If using the rebuild kit, install the new housing now.
9. Install the new gaskets and insert the new impeller, rotating the driveshaft clockwise to bend the vanes correctly.
10. Reinstall the water pump cover and tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
11. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the drive shaft splines and reinstall the lower unit.
12. Once assembled, test the engine using a flush device to confirm water flows properly from the tell-tale outlet.
