Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into the neutral position.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gearcase oil drain screw to empty the oil.
3. Remove the bolts that secure the lower unit to the upper engine casing.
4. Carefully separate the lower unit from the rest of the outboard.
5. Locate the water pump housing on the lower unit and remove its mounting bolts.
6. Lift the housing to expose the old impeller. Take note of the blade direction.
7. Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft. Clean the interior of the pump housing and the wear plate.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. Turn the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to help seat the blades in the correct orientation.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing, using new gaskets if necessary.
10. Reattach the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, water tube, and shift shaft are correctly aligned.
11. Secure the lower unit bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
12. Refill the gearcase with new marine gear lubricant before operating.
