Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this fits my engine?
Verify your engine's model and year against the compatibility chart. This impeller replaces OEM part number 688-44352-03-00. If you are unsure, use the official Yamaha guides to find your serial number and view parts diagrams to confirm the correct part.
What are the signs of a bad impeller?
The most common symptoms are engine overheating, a weak or non-existent water stream from the "telltale" indicator, and, upon inspection, visible cracks, stiffness, or missing blades on the impeller itself.
How often should I replace the water pump impeller?
For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to replace the impeller every 1 to 2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation. This interval may be shorter if the engine is used frequently in saltwater or sandy/silty conditions.
