Troubleshooting & FAQ
How can I confirm this impeller fits my Yamaha engine?
This impeller is designed for Yamaha F225, F250, and F300 4.2L V6 4-Stroke models from 2006 and newer. Please check the "Compatible Engine Models" table to verify your specific model and year. You can also match your old part's number to the ones listed in our "Part Number Cross-Reference" section for confirmation.
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Common signs of a worn or damaged impeller include your engine overheating, especially at idle or low speeds, a weak or intermittent water stream from the tell-tale outlet, or a complete stop of water flow from the outlet.
How often should I replace the impeller?
For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to inspect your impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of engine use. Factors like operating in sandy or silty water may require more frequent replacement.
