Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and shift the outboard into the neutral position.
2. Locate and remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper driveshaft housing.
3. Carefully lower and separate the lower unit from the engine.
4. Unscrew the bolts on the water pump housing cover and remove the cover.
5. Slide the old impeller up and off the driveshaft. Note the direction of the vanes for reinstallation.
6. Clean any dirt or corrosion from the pump housing interior and the driveshaft.
7. Lightly grease the interior of the pump housing and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft.
8. Install the new impeller with a slight turning motion in the clockwise direction to orient the blades correctly.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing cover and tighten its bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Guide the lower unit back into position, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
11. Securely fasten the lower unit bolts and reconnect the battery cable. Start the engine using a water supply to verify water flows from the tell-tale port.
