1. Raise the Outboard: Tilt your outboard motor to the full "up" position using the power trim/tilt switch.
2. Position the Wedge: Slide the Transom Saver Wedge over the exposed piston rod on one of your main trim rams. For most engines, the starboard (right) side ram is used.
3. Lower the Outboard: Carefully lower the engine until it makes firm contact with the wedge, creating pressure that holds it in place. Do not apply excessive pressure.
4. Attach Stabilizer Clips: Clip the included steering stabilizers onto the hydraulic steering cylinder rods on both sides of the motor. This prevents the engine from turning left or right during transit.
5. Final Check: Before trailering, ensure the engine is securely resting on the wedge and the steering is locked straight.
