Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this guard fits my engine?
This guard is designed for 9.9HP to 20HP outboard motors with a propeller diameter up to 8.5 inches. It fits most major brands but is not suitable for BigFoot or High Thrust models, which typically require our 11" model. Always measure your propeller and check your engine specifications before ordering.
Will this guard affect my boat's performance or speed?
The guard has a minimal impact on performance when operated within the recommended speed limit. It is rated for a maximum speed of 25-30 mph. Exceeding this speed is not recommended and may affect handling.
What tools are required for installation?
You will need a drill with a 5/16" bit, a 1/2" wrench or socket, and C-clamps to hold the guard in place while drilling. The process typically takes 20-30 minutes.
