This propeller safety guard is designed for a universal fit on most 9.9 HP to 20 HP outboard motors, including models from Mercury, Yamaha, Johnson/Evinrude, Honda, Suzuki, and Tohatsu/Nissan. It provides a protective cage around the propeller to significantly reduce the risk of injury to swimmers and marine life while also helping to prevent propeller damage in shallow, rocky waters. Note: This guard is not compatible with Big Foot or High Thrust models, which have a larger gearcase and require an 11" guard.

This guard protects propellers up to 8.5" in diameter and is intended for boats operating at speeds up to 25 mph (40 kph).

Installation Guide

  1. Place the Propeller Guard on the underside of the cavitation plate.
  2. Align the guard so there is equal distance between the guard and the propeller blades.
  3. Clamp the guard securely to the cavitation plate using C-clamps or grip clamps.
  4. Drill holes through the cavitation plate and the guard according to the installation instructions.
  5. Fasten the guard using the included stainless steel mounting hardware.
