Installation Guide
- Prepare the Surface: Thoroughly clean the application area with soap and water or rubbing alcohol to remove any dirt, wax, or grime. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.
- Plan Your Layout: Arrange the letters and numbers for your registration code. Use masking tape to create a straight guideline on the hull for perfect alignment.
- Apply Decals: Peel each decal from its backing paper. Carefully position it along your guideline and press it firmly onto the surface, starting from the center and working outwards.
- Ensure Adhesion: Once all decals are applied, use a squeegee or a credit card to press firmly over each one to remove any air bubbles and ensure a strong, waterproof bond.
- Final Check: Remove the guideline tape and inspect the placement. The adhesive will cure fully over 24-48 hours, so avoid high-pressure washing during this period.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: Do these numbers meet USCG requirements?
A: Yes, the 3-inch height of these decals meets the United States Coast Guard's requirements for vessel registration numbers when they are installed according to regulations (contrasting color, proper spacing, etc.).
Q: How can I ensure the decals stick properly and last a long time?
A: Proper surface preparation is key. The application area must be clean, dry, and free of any wax or oils. Applying firm pressure with a squeegee during installation will create a strong, waterproof bond. The UV coating and premium vinyl are designed for long-term outdoor marine use.
Q: Are these decals resistant to saltwater, fuel, and sun?
A: Absolutely. They are made from premium outdoor vinyl with a UV-protective coating and a waterproof, fuel-resistant adhesive designed to withstand the harsh marine environment.
