Installation Guide
- Disconnect the engine's fuel line and allow the engine to cool completely before beginning any maintenance work.
- Remove the lower unit by loosening the mounting bolts and sliding it away from the midsection. Drain all gear oil using the drain screws.
- Access the water pump housing by removing the pump cover plate. Extract the old impeller, sleeve, and pump case seal.
- Install the new impeller (17461-93J00) with blades oriented in the correct rotation direction. Lubricate with glycerin or soapy water.
- Fit the new sleeve (17413-93J02), pump case seal (17416-93J00), and gasket (17472-93J00) into position. Replace the plate (17471-93J02) and secure with the key (09420-05009/6).
- Replace the fuel filter (15412-93J10) by disconnecting fuel lines and installing the new unit with proper orientation.
- Remove the old oil filter (16510-96J10) and install the new one, tightening by hand plus a quarter-turn.
- Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring alignment pins are seated. Refill gear oil using the new gear oil pump (24OP149) until oil flows from the upper vent hole.
- Install new drain gaskets (09168-12012 and 09168-10034) and tighten drain screws to manufacturer torque specifications.
- Replace all seven zinc anodes (55321-87J00) located on the lower unit and trim tab. Install new O-rings (09280-22019) with each anode.
- Secure the cotter pin (09204-03003) in its designated location per your service manual.
- Reconnect fuel lines, refill engine oil if drained, and perform a test run. Check for leaks and proper water flow from the telltale indicator.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I confirm this maintenance kit fits my specific Suzuki engine?
A: Verify your engine model is DF200, DF225, or DF250 manufactured in 2011 or later. Check your engine's serial number plate or consult the Suzuki parts diagram to confirm OEM part number 17400-93850 is specified for your year and model.
Q: How often should I perform maintenance with this kit?
A: Suzuki recommends annual maintenance or every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. In saltwater environments or heavy-use conditions, inspect components more frequently—especially zinc anodes and the water pump impeller.
Q: What are the signs that my water pump impeller needs replacement?
A: Watch for reduced water flow from the telltale indicator, engine overheating, steam from the engine cover, or difficulty maintaining operating temperature. If you notice any of these symptoms, inspect and replace the impeller immediately.
Q: Can I reuse the old gaskets and O-rings if they appear undamaged?
A: No. Always replace all gaskets, seals, and O-rings during reassembly, even if they look intact. Reusing these components risks leaks, contamination, and premature component failure.
Q: How do I know which direction to install the water pump impeller?
A: Impeller blades must be oriented in the direction of shaft rotation. Consult your Suzuki service manual for the correct rotation direction for your specific model, and bend the blades accordingly during installation.
Q: Is this an OEM or aftermarket product?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.
Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
