Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
2. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper driveshaft housing.
3. Carefully lower and separate the gearcase from the outboard.
4. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing, which sits on top of the gearcase.
5. Note the orientation of the vanes on the old impeller before sliding it off the driveshaft.
6. Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and the wear plate. Inspect them for grooves, warping, or damage.
7. Lightly lubricate the interior of the new pump housing and the new impeller with a marine-safe grease.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft while turning the shaft clockwise to correctly bend the vanes.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Reattach the lower unit to the outboard, ensuring the driveshaft and water tube align correctly.
11. Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water source (flushing attachment or in the water), confirming a steady stream from the tell-tale outlet.
